A man was the victim of an alleged armed robbery near People’s Park on Saturday.
Early that morning, the victim was sitting in People’s Park drinking a beer when two suspects allegedly approached him and began to punch and kick him. The suspects then allegedly continued hitting the victim with possibly a rock or bottle and went through the victim’s pockets, taking his money and possessions, according to a UCPD crime alert.

The victim contacted the Berkeley Police Department in front of Ned’s Bookstore at 2480 Bancroft Way and was transported to Alta Bates Hospital for medical treatment, according to the alert.
One victim is described as a male in his forties, 5 feet 8 inches in height, black hair, a heavy build and wearing a black t-shirt and dark jeans. The second suspect is described as a male in his twenties to thirties, 6 feet, 1 inch in height, an unshaven face with tufts of hair and wearing a triple colored “Nautica” style jacket that was red, white and black.

No mention of race/ethnicity of the perps, which would aid greatly in apprehending them?
Or is that too Politically Incorrect?
How early in the morning was he drinking that beer? And when did the definition of “armed robbery” change to include kicking?
