Armed robbery at Channing and Fulton

The following is a crime alert, provided by UCPD.

On Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011, around 2:30 a.m., UCPD was informed that
City of Berkeley Police Department (BPD) officers responded to a report of
an armed robbery at the intersection of Channing Way and Fulton Street.
The unidentified suspect took a victim’s cellular phone.  The suspect fled
the scene in a southbound direction.

UCPD is awaiting more information from BPD regarding this offense and a
supplemental Crime Alert will be distributed.

The suspect is described as:
A Hispanic male, in his late 20’s, approximately 5’-5”, small build,
wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, and carrying a pistol.
