Aggravated assault on Telegraph Avenue

The following is a crime alert, provided by UCPD.

On Tuesday, August 9th, 2011, about 8:30 p.m., a 17 year old pedestrian
was the victim of aggravated assault along the 2300 block of Telegraph
Avenue.  The victim told the City of Berkeley Police Department (BPD) that
he was with a 17 year old friend when a male suspect punched him multiple
times in the face causing his head to hit the side of a building. The
suspect, along with another suspect fled the scene on foot. The victim
sustained a bruised right eye, swollen right cheekbone/eye socket, and
lump to the back of his head with bruising down his neck. The victim
reported this crime to BPD on August 10th.  The suspect identities are
unknown.

The suspects were described as:

Suspect #1:     Black, male, approximately 20 years of age, 5’-8”, medium
build, cropped hair, wearing a black baseball cap (with a red logo) and
all black clothing;

Suspect#2:      Black, male, 19-20 years of age, 6’-1”, thin build, nose
pierced with a purple stud.
