A UC Berkeley student was robbed of his iPhone Saturday night just south of campus. No suspects have been arrested.
At approximately 8:50 p.m., the 18-year-old victim was walking westbound on the 2700 block of Bancroft Way when he was approached by two men who threatened him and demanded his iPhone, according to a UCPD crime alert. The victim complied, and the suspects fled northbound on Piedmont Avenue.
Officers from the Berkeley Police Department and UCPD searched the area but could not locate the suspects, the alert said. The victim was not physically injured during the encounter.
The suspects were described as a two 20-to-25-year-old males both wearing white shirts and gray sweat pants — one with shoulder-length dreadlocks.
