One of the largest cranes in the country came to Berkeley to place the press box in the California Memorial Stadium Monday, in the newest development of the stadium renovation.

The crane was assembled last week inside the stadium bowl. Over the weekend, it lifted the first three of the five steel-frame sections into place, and Tuesday, the crane installed the last two sections, according to UC Berkeley Newscenter.

The press box’s installation attracted news helicopters Tuesday, which hovered over the site for more than two hours Tuesday afternoon.
