Christmas tree set on fire on UC Berkeley campus

A Christmas tree was set on fire on the UC Berkeley campus early Sunday morning, according to police.

At around 12:26 a.m., the Berkeley Fire Department responded to the incident and extinguished the fire , which took place in the upper level of a parking structure in the northern part of campus, at the corner of Hearst Avenue and Gayley Road.

A witness allegedly saw six or seven males carry the Christmas tree to the parking lot and set it on fire, according to UCPD spokesperson Lt. Eric Tejada. The suspects have not been located.
