Regarding our Cal recruiting season column

Last Wednesday, we published a column by sports writer Jack Wang about the Cal football recruiting season. Many readers have contacted us to express disagreement with its perspective, some arguing that it should not have been published.

We greatly value your feedback on our content as we continually seek new avenues through which to engage with our readers. We appreciate the time those of you took to share your thoughts with us and hope you will continue to do so in the future.

Our writers seek to provide you with their most honest, independent assessments of the most important issues and topics facing our community. Jack expressed his frank opinion in his column. While many readers disagree, at the end of the day what’s most important is that we engage in honest discussions that are inclusive of everyone’s perspective.

Let’s keep the discussion going. If you disagree with Jack’s column, or have general thoughts about the recruiting season, we urge you to take the time to write a letter to the editor or op-ed for us to publish. You can do so or learn more by emailing [email protected].

Sincerely,
