Those group of unknowleged people that call for Justice ( nice word ) know nothing about the reality in Israela nd Palestine, know nothing about the check points and just make a faked reality thatexists just in their minds ( u could be a good Hollywood editors btw). Checkpionts were made to defend the Israeli civilians from the nonstop bombs that happened every single day. checkpoints are there between two lands israel nd palestine ( exactly how it exists between NY and San Fransisco at the airport… Check pionts make me as a citizen safe ( I hope its enough to do so ) that terrorists from Palestine will not come and explode themsevs in any buss or mall killing children and old men … check points are a result of the nonhuman acts that the Terrorist groups from palestine made and make … and the most important detail that the soldiers that work at the check points never treat the palestenians like that.. its just faked propaganda and make me feel how wild imagination u have guys… I ipologize for any palestenian person that suffer from the checkpounts and hope they know that the real responsible of this situation are only the Terrorist groups . I hope peace will come and we’ll not need all of that but till then, I ask my government to defend me.. Check points will do part of it.. and I’m sure that in my country Law is above allll and everybody who treat badly any innocent palestenian will b investigated and punished. but first lets not dream and say that the situation is good and that we dont need check points. lets be more realistic. lets try to find solutions instead of inciting the issues by making faked reality which not exist on real life just on those sick minds
If the pro-Israel students ran back and forth through the checkpoints strapped with fake bombs and stereotypical “Islamic Jihad” garb, they’d have been labeled Islamophobic.
And yet these anti-Israel protesters are A-OK portraying IDF soldiers as monstrous, blood thirsty killers.
Let’s buy some keffiyehs, fake explosives and AK-47s, some head coverings for the women, and expose their demonstration for the mockery it is.
Pro-Palestine?
More like anti-Israel, anti-Jewish…
The checkpoints are a harsh reality but were built in response to a period of daily bus and train bombings that lasted several years…
this is some of the best coverage the daily cal has done on this subject. it has been very poor in the past and i’m happy to see that the campus newspaper is beginning to make an effort to cover this in a way that captures the messages of the students involved. i’d encourage the daily cal to also look into the other activities of israeli apartheid week–speaking events, discussions, lectures as those events will provide more context to the sproul demonstrations.
Before the protective barrier and more substantial checkpoints, nearly a thousand Israelis were killed by Palestinian terrorists who crossed into Israel and blew them up. Since then, there has been nary an Israeli (Jewish or Palestinian Israeli) life lost to this barbaric activity.
Correspondingly, if Palestinians are inconvenienced by the checkpoints–well that’s the price they pay for engaging in such mayhem. And they still wish to do so–remember that Hamas is now part of the new “unity” government and Hamas has called not just for the killing of Jewish Israelis but the murder of Jews everywhere. In sum, those who participated in this ridiculous Israeli Apartheid week are complicit in the support of Jewish genocide…
Does anyone care to remember that before the “Palestinians” rejected statehood and peace, in favor of an Intifada and suicide bombings, that there were no check points? Whean I speak with my older Arab friends , they recall the 1967-93era as sort of their “Golden Age”. They could commute from the “West Bank” to work in Israel, Israelis shopped, toured and hiked in the “West Bank.” All of that changed as a result of “Palestinian”actions and choices.
Even as late as 2000, every Sunday through Thursday (the traditional Israeli work week), Highway 35 from Ashkelon Junction to Kiryat Gat would be crowded with cars, trucks, and buses transporting Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to their places of work or business in Israel proper. I know that for a fact because that was once part of my daily commute to work as well. Unfortunately, among the majority of Palestinians who were willing to coexist peacefully were a handful of terrorists who took advantage of free access across the border to commit murder and mayhem. The security (NOT “apartheid”) walls and checkpoints were erected because the Israeli people got tired of the senseless slaughter of their own people. I know the lefties don’t like to admit it, but the Palestinian leadership is responsible for the majority of suffering and misery among the Palestinian people due to their unwillingness to denounce terrorism and accept that they have to do their share in learning to live in peace with the Israeli people…
14 members of the Knesset are Arabs,
time to put away the pretend apartheid schtick.
These morons don’t realize that Palestinians have their own checkpoints, like the one in the town at Dahriya on the West Bank where I was stopped and interrogated for about 20-30 minutes. At least the personnel at the Israeli checkpoints were kind enough not to keep pointing their weapons at me.
yup to hell with the Philistines.
OTOH, you’re still a TROLL and nothing more!
No, child. YOU are the troll here.
I make substantive, informed, coherent comments on the issues, whether you personally agree with them or not.
OTOH, all you do is follow me from one thread to another and make an asshole of yourself.
Now grow up…
Yeah, you really are a troll with your tiny balls shit. Really, stay off this forum.
Isn’t this cute. You might ask yourself why checkpoints are necessary.
Idiot left-wingers aren’t interested in the facts. They also more interested in working themselves into a frothing rage over any issue that they can shoehorn into their idiotic race/class/gender worldview.
