Watch a video recapping the March 5 rally and occupation of the state Capitol building in Sacramento. During the rally, speeches were given by California’s Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, as well as protestors from across the state. Following the rally, protestors sat down in the rotunda of the Capitol building as well as an adjacent hallway to discuss their demands for higher education. After repeated dispersal orders, the protestors who remained were arrested for trespassing.
