Independent United States presidential candidate Buddy Roemer will speak at the Goldman School of Public Policy Tuesday.

Roemer, a four-term congressman and former governor of Louisiana, will speak in Room 105 of the public policy school at 6 p.m. He was a congressman from 1981 to 1988 as a “Conservative Democrat” before serving as governor from 1988 to 1992. He now works as the CEO of Business First Bank, a community bank in Louisiana, according to his campaign website.

He is participating in Americans Elect, an online national primary that will place a nonpartisan nomination on the ballot.

Roemer has begun a tour of speaking at various colleges, and will stop at the University of the Pacific and UC Davis before speaking at UC Berkeley.
