A Lawrence Berkeley National Lab fellow is missing following a fatal yacht crash off the coast of San Francisco last weekend.
Shortly before 3 p.m. on Saturday, Elmer Morrissey was with three other people on a yacht that crashed near the Farallon Islands. After 30 hours of searching, the Coast Guard called off the search for the four missing sailors Sunday, according to an article by Berkeley Patch.
Morrissey, a native of Ireland, was a postdoctoral research scientist in the lab’s Building Technologies Department, according to Berkeley Patch.
