Designs for vacant lot on corner of Haste and Telegraph released

The vacant lot on the northeastern corner of Haste Street and Telegraph Avenue has sat empty for over 20 years, becoming a home for rats and trash and contributing to the decline of business along Telegraph.

Below are architecture firm Kirk Peterson & Associates Architects’ plans for the vacant lot, which is owned by Ken Sarachan, who also owns Rasputin Music and several other businesses along the avenue. The city has filed a lawsuit against Sarachan to foreclose on the property’s nearly $641,000 lien.

Peterson said he plans to submit the designs to the city either Wednesday or Thursday. Following the submittal, a lengthy approval process will begin.

I remember when they built an ugly metal fence around this lot and it first became an eyesore when I was a student in the early 1990′s… I can’t believe it is still vacant.

    Weird aesthetic.
