The sidewalks along North Shattuck Ave. in the Gourmet Ghetto in Berkeley were filled with chalk artists of all ages during the 16th annual Chocolate and Chalk Festival on Saturday, June 2. With no fees to artists, areas of sidewalk are assigned to participants to create their own chalk drawings. A chalk art contest for the best drawing will give a first prize of $250 cash and runners-up get a gift certificate to Philz Coffee.
