A male ended up in the hospital with injuries this weekend after he was the victim of an armed robbery early Saturday morning on Southside.
At approximately 3:50 a.m., a 26-year-old victim was walking northbound on College Avenue when he was approached by a male suspect at the intersection of College and Channing Way. The suspect then pointed a knife at the victim and demanded his property, according to a UCPD crime alert.
The suspect took several items from the victim and then punched him several times before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction, according to the alert. Berkeley Fire Department paramedics then transported the victim to a local emergency room where he was treated, according to the alert.
Berkeley Police Department officials search the area but were unable to located the suspect.
Below is the UCPD Crime Alert description of the suspect:
A Black male in his early 20s, with a dark complexion, short dreadlocks, medium build, wearing a red and white shirt with animal cartoons on it and dark blue jeans.
