With the filing period for the race for the city of Berkeley municipal election officially over Friday, five candidates qualified to run in the November election against Mayor Tom Bates, eight candidates are running for council member positions, eight are running for four Rent Stabilization Board seats and four candidates are running for two Berkeley Unified School District School Board director spots.
According to the city clerkâs office, the final update to the online candidate roster that indicates the final list of qualified candidates will be made available next Monday.
The candidates who qualified for each position are listed below:
