An armed robbery occurred at People’s Park Thursday night when three adult males were attempting to buy drugs at the location.
At around 8:30 p.m. the victims approached the suspect and asked if he sold drugs, according to a UCPD crime alert. The suspect then allegedly pulled a handgun from his waist and demanded the victims’ wallets. The victims handed over their property and ran away, notifying UCPD of the incident three hours later. They told police they went to the park with the intent to buy drugs from a drug dealer, the alert states.
The victims, who are not affiliated with the campus, were not injured during the encounter. Police were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as:
A Black male, approximately 36-years-old, 6 ft. tall, approximately 180 lbs. and armed with a silver pistol.
