Local Limelight: Wildlife Control

If the Black Keys were raised on the Beach Boys and were actually brothers, they would probably sound like Wildlife Control. Although only one of them resides in San Francisco, the two brothers make some catchy, summer time music, perfect for the heat wave that’s going to hit Berkeley this week.

From the  spunky, distorted guitar chucks and falsetto harmonies of “Brooklyn” to the slow, melodic bass and keys groove of “Oakland,” the duo’s sonic range spans coast to coast in a balanced mixture of upbeat jams and carefully executed melodies.

With songs focused on girls and summer fun, Wildlife Control make for a charming flashback into summer, making the high temperatures this week just a little more bearable.
