A woman was the victim of a purse snatching while leaving the Underhill Field and Parking Garage Saturday morning.
The 32-year-old woman met the suspect and two others at a club in San Francisco and then traveled with them to Berkeley and parked in the parking structure at Haste Avenue and Channing Way, according to a UCPD crime alert released Wednesday. When she was leaving the structure alone the suspect allegedly followed her out, grabbed her purse, ran back into structure and drove away down Channing Way.
The woman was not injured in the incident.
According to the alert, the two other people in the car “do not appear” to have been involved with the robbery. UCPD searched the area but did not locate the the driver or the vehicle, which is described as “a new-looking black two-door BMW Coupe.”
According to the crime alert, the suspect is described as:
“A White Male, 25 to 35 years of age, 5 ft. 7 in. to 5 ft. 10 in. height, a medium athletic/muscular build, with a blond crew cut, blue eyes and wearing a purple t-shirt.”

Another white guy! Wow — all those posters who kept saying that it’s only blacks who commit crimes around here are very silent lately! We need to start profiling white people — they are the devil and they are all criminals!
Yeah, a couple of white criminals changes everything. Get real. The argument is never that whites or Asians don’t commit crimes. The argument is that non-whites commit far too many crimes when compared to their size in the population. You don’t ignore doing things to improve the black or Latino community just because other racial groups also have criminals. You recognize that the statistics indicate a problem, and then you try to fix the problem. Alameda county spends too much time ignoring its race issues, and the result is a very segregated county. I have lived in Berkeley for a while now, and if not for the occasional trip to Telegraph, I would hardly know there were any blacks or Latinos in the city. Southside and Northside are incredibly white and Asian for a city that pretends that it cares about all races.
Living in Berkeley and not seeing minorities? Maybe you are Asian and need glasses.
And how would being Asian work into your thought?
You seem to like stereotypes. I gave you one. Enjoy it.
What stereotypes have I been using?
