A 19-year-old male was the victim of a strong arm robbery near the south side of Unit 3 on Tuesday.

According to a UCPD crime alert released Wednesday, the victim was at the intersection of Channing Way and Dana Street when two male suspects run up to him from behind at about 5:57 a.m.  The suspects demanded the victim’s property and he handed them his wallet, the alert states.

The victim, whose affiliation to UC Berkeley is unknown, was ordered to turn and run. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured during the encounter, according to the alert.

UCPD and the Berkeley Police Department searched the area but were unable to locate the two suspects.

According to the UCPD crime alert, the suspects are described as:

Suspect #1 –  A Black male in his late 20s, 6’1” in height, 185 lbs., wearing a black beanie, a dark heavy coat and grey pants.

Suspect #2 – A Black male in his mid-20s, 5’11” in height, 160-170 lbs., with close cut black hair wearing a grey pattern sweatshirt and light blue jeans.

Yes, most crimes reported in the Daily Cal are committed by blacks who form one of the poorest racial groups in the U.S. Please be more tolerant and not use nasty language like “black thugs” or “black bastards.” That is not what an educated Cal student should be saying.

While poverty is doubtless a factor in the high black crime rate, it should not be seen as the sole factor nor even the most important factor. I’ve spent five years in far poorer societies in Asia, Africa and Latin America and have felt perfectly safe. Indeed, the crime rate in most of those countries is far lower than that which statistics bear out concerning African Americans.

For complex reasons, black American culture is to blame and terrible parenting is among the most important of several crucial factors. But the morons in the Ethnic Studies classes and “leaders” like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis Fart-His-Kan always simplistically place the blame on poverty and racism, thus having their own people ignore the other important components to the sickness all too often seen within African American culture.

So many black thugs at Berkeley. So little response by UCPD and BPD. Racial profiling is a must to stop these black bastards in their tracks.

For once I finally agree with you. Right on, Bro.

If you guys are going to be that misguided, I have an equally glib solution for you – don’t get robbed. Seriously, it’s not that hard.

        • Guest says:

Lol. Are you going to tell a girl who’s been raped she shouldn’t have gotten raped because seriously, it’s not that hard not to get raped?

Stop blaming the victim, you dumb fuck.

Seriously? “Black thugs” and “black bastards”? Why the need to resort to such nasty language?

        • I_h8_disqus says:

I agree that it would be nice to not have the language, but the language gives us a glimpse into the frustration people feel towards the black culture that is promoting such a high crime rate in their population. However, the language is just a glimpse. You can see how this really affects society by just looking at how the vast majority of Cal students quickly move away from the more diverse neighborhoods they lived in as Cal students to areas that only have Asians and whites. Experiences at Cal are doing the opposite of what is hoped. The diversity of Berkeley is causing Asians and whites to segregate from other races once they graduate.
