Shots were fired on Lower Sproul Plaza late Monday evening, according to a crime alert released by UCPD.
UCPD responded to reports of gunshots fired at 7:35 p.m. after it was reported that a group of juveniles were arguing when an unidentified person fired three gunshots. The group of youths fled the scene, but UCPD was able to detain many of them and recover a single handgun.
No injuries were reported, and UCPD is still investigating the incident.
The suspect was described as a black male juvenile wearing a two-toned jacket and in possession of a dark handgun.
