David Wear/UCLA Forward

Height: 6’ 10” Year: Junior

PPG: 7.0 RPG: 4.8

Wear’s been the less effective of the Wear twins, but it hasn’t really mattered for a Bruins offense that plays fast and efficiently. One of UCLA’s only offensive drawbacks has been its inability to grab offensive rebounds.

Wear is the team’s best offensive rebounder, but that isn’t saying much. Nine teams in the Pac-12 have forwards who rank above Wear in offensive rebounds. For UCLA to gain a crucial advantage over a Cal team that matches up well with the Bruins, Wear has to step up on the offensive glass.

Tyrone Wallace/Cal guard

Height: 6’ 4” Year: Freshman

PPG: 7.0  RPG: 4.7

The Bears’ primary offensive weaknesses lies in their lack of outside shooting threats. Aside from Allen Crabbe, no Cal perimeter player has managed to add a consistent 3-point stroke to create space on the offensive end. The Bears rank 332nd in the country in percentage of points scored off of 3-pointers.  To keep the UCLA defense from loading up in the paint, Tyrone Wallace will be key in knocking down some perimeter shots and establishing a true No. 2 perimeter threat.
