Things to do now that spring break is over

The forced separation from school caused by spring break probably made you really nostalgic for your typical academic lifestyle. We missed the late nights working, consuming copious amount of coffee and panicking about how we were going to get everything done on time. Being away from our beloved campus may have even induced a serious case of school-sickness (a term we just made up — think of it as being the opposite of homesickness). Now that the burden of spring break is over, here are four things to do to help you enjoy the much-anticipated return to school.

1. Go outside and enjoy the wonderful springtime weather Berkeley has to offer! Let’s be honest, the sun of tropical destinations typically associated with spring break is exhausting and overrated, not to mention the fact that harmful UV rays can lead to skin cancer. Why frolic in the sun when you can shiver in the rain?

2. Enjoy the fact that you caught up on all of your work over spring break. Thanks to your superior self-control, dedication and hard work, you can really enjoy this first week back at school because you won’t be playing catch-up … right?

3. Delight in the fact that you won’t have to think of ways to use your free time. Having your time spoken for with classes and work relieves you of the stress and the burden of choosing what to do with your time. Plus, you’ve officially caught up on “Games of Thrones,” so really, what’s the point of break?

4. Set your alarm an hour earlier than you normally would on your first day back at school. We know you’ll be so excited to get back to school that you might not be able to fall asleep at all, but if you do manage to fall asleep, be sure to wake up an hour earlier so you can lengthen and maximize your first day back!
