UPDATE, Monday 3:00 p.m.: The victim has been identified as Berkeley resident Dustin Bynum.
A 24-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday night on the 1800 block of San Pablo Avenue, according to Berkeley Police Department.
At approximately 9:18 p.m., police responded to reports of multiple shots fired and found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds.
Berkeley Fire Department then transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
BPD is not releasing the victim’s name at this time and is investigating the case.
Thursday’s homicide is the third in Berkeley this year. On July 17, Jermaine Davis was shot and killed near the intersection of Derby Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
