An armed robbery took place near the intersection of Hillegass Avenue and Dwight Way on Saturday at approximately 12:30 a.m.
According to a UCPD crime alert on Tuesday, two female victims, ages 20 and 24, were walking when two perpetrators approached them. The perpetrators displayed firearms, pushed the victims and demanded their property. The victims subsequently ran westbound on Dwight Way with their purses.
The two victims, whose affiliations with the university are unknown, were uninjured in the encounter. When Berkeley Police Department and UCPD searched the area, they did not find the perpetrators.
According to the crime alert, the perpetrators are described as:
Perpetrator No. 1 — A black male in his mid-20s, 6 feet in height, large build, braided hair, wearing a striped polo-style shirt with dark jeans and armed with a gun.
Perpetrator No. 2 — A black male in his mid-20s, 5-foot-10 in height, thin build, wearing a light-colored T-shirt with dark jeans and armed with a gun.
