The new semester is arriving, and we are all excited. New semester, new start, right? But what else does that mean, you ask? That’s right. It means an entirely new set of tweets, Facebook statuses and Instagram photos we’re dealing with. If you’re unaware of what we’re talking about, here are a couple of things you’ll be seeing on the interweb for these next couple of weeks:

“REUNITED!!!!” pics. All over Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and whatever else, expect to see dozens of #reunited photos with boys and girls holding on to each other for dear life. It may or may not look like one person has another person in a chokehold, but please recognize that this is what some do to show affection. Do not be alarmed by the violent poses.

Complaints about Tele-BEARS. “Tele-BEARS is ruining my life,” or “Can they please stop spending money on the balloons at Crossroads and spend more money on fixing Tele-BEARS????” might be some recurring Facebook statuses you come across these next couple of weeks during the adjustment period. Social media is the most convenient way to complain about Tele-BEARS to your fellow Cal students, as they will see your complaints and approve of said complaints by clicking the “like” or “favorite” button or retweeting them.

DIY dorm and apartment photos. Ah, don’t we love it when all forms of social media become Pinterest? In these next couple of weeks, expect to see pretty DIY bulletin boards consisting of cork and scrapbooky flowers or DIY monogrammed everything. Use these photos to get ideas for your own dorm or apartment! DIY space-saving is essential to living in Berkeley as a student, so make sure to keep an eye for that!

What do you expect to see on social media for these next few weeks as we arrive back at Cal? Let us know in the comments!
