The 2013 Cal football season starts tonight against No. 22 Northwestern at Memorial Stadium with hope in the air. Can Sonny Dykes and his Bear Raid offense, led by true freshman quarterback Jared Goff, bring Cal back to its former winning ways? Will the Cal offensive line — most importantly for left tackle Freddie Tagaloa — be able to protect Goff against the stout Wildcats defense? How will the Cal defense, spearheaded by transfer linebacker Khairi Fortt, hold up against the Northwestern offense?
