The weather has been nice as of late, but as we move into October, rainy days will start to become more frequent.
When you were making your decision to come to Cal, we’re sure Berkeley’s grey and drizzling autumn skies were not at the top of your pros list. It becomes 10 times harder to get to class when all we want to do is stay under the covers. Soon, your daily uniform of shorts and sandals will be gone, replaced by heavy duty rain boots and umbrellas (which are remarkably ineffective at shielding you from Berkeley’s horizontal rain). Not to mention that awkward, “Where do I put my umbrella?” situation that happens in literally every class.
When the rain starts, here are five things we would rather be doing:
1. Listening to the rain fall … from your bed
2. Building a blanket fort

The only reason you’d be willing to get out of bed would be to transfer to an even cozier blanket fort.
3. Sleeping

No matter what the weather, sleeping is a good pastime.
4. Watching a movie
5. Drinking hot chocolate

Somehow, the thought of studying doesn’t seem so bad when you can drink hot chocolate while doing it.
