A lot of my work is based off of obsessions, fetishes, addictions and comedy. This series, Amychophilia, is an extension of other intaglio prints I’m currently working on, all of which are focused around fetishes.

To do these monoprints I printed a completely black aquatint and then scratched the surface with my fingernail. I tried to make each piece embody a certain type of amychophiliac.

Amychophilia i is an amychophiliac who likes being scratched elegantly; Amychophilia ii is a paraplegic amychophiliac; Amychophilia iii is an amychophiliac who likes being scratched violently to the point where his skin is coming off; Amychophilia iv is an amychophiliac who likes being scratched vertically–but only with the pinky because he feels the other four fingers are much to pudgy to touch his skin.
