This photo series consists of of snapshots I took while visiting my family for my grandmother’s memorial service. I think I took all these photos as a way to cope with saying goodbye to both my grandmother and her home, where I had spent many childhood summers. I started out trying to photograph all of the little details that I loved in her home, all of the pink, satiny, velvety, pastel kitsch that I had adored as a child. However, I soon began to photograph my family too, and the whole group of photos sort of morphed into an exploration of how we deal with losing both a person we love and the places they were tied to.
