Police launch investigation into body discovered at Tilden Regional Park on Friday

Police are investigating reports of a body found at Tilden Regional Park on Friday afternoon.

According to East Bay Regional Park District officials, a park user reported the male body about 3 p.m. on the Packrat Trail. Emergency medical aid and police officers responded and located the body, which was then taken into custody by the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office.

The man had not been identified as of a Friday press release from the park’s police department, and his identity will not be released until next of kin are notified, the release said.

Park district police are asking anyone with information about the death or suspicious activity to call detective Dave Bermudez at 510-690-6562.
