Berkeley Police Department issued a Nixle alert Monday about 4:50 p.m. asking for community assistance in identifying a stabbing suspect.
BPD released a sketch of the stabbing suspect, according to a Nixle alert sent at approximately 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.
The 4:50 pm. alert alleged that the suspect approached a male victim and stabbed him in the abdomen on the 800 block of San Diego Road by John Hinkel Park in North Berkeley. The suspect was last seen leaving on foot in an unknown direction, according to the alert. The alert said the victim was later transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The 4:50 p.m. alert described the suspect as a white male adult in his thirties with sandy colored hair, several days of facial hair growth, wearing light-colored clothing and a black backpack.
Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity, particularly individuals with a camera surveillance system who live within a half-mile radius of the incident’s location, is asked to contact the Homicide Detail at 510-981-5741.
