This piece has been updated to reflect further information from the California Highway Patrol.

The California Highway Patrol issued an AmberĀ Alert for a tan 2000 Toyota Corolla with a California license plate numbered 5SEY238 on Friday afternoon.

The alert was issued for Makai Bangoura, a one-year-old child missing from San Francisco. The child was allegedly taken by Jason Lam, who is described in the alert as a 30-year-old, 5-foot-3-inch Asian male. The alert said Lam may be suicidal and should not be approached without law enforcement coordination.

The AMBER Alert was later deactivated after the missing child was safely located, according to a tweet from California Highway Patrol Headquarters sent Friday evening. The tweet added the suspect was in custody.

Anyone with information is asked to contact CHP at 911.
