Berkeley police searching for at-risk missing woman

Berkeley Police Department is asking community members for help locating an at-risk missing person, according to a Nixle alert released early Friday morning.

Lala Wallace, 74, is an at-risk missing person because she suffers from dementia, the alert said. Wallace was last seen by her brother, Paul Wallace, about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at her place of residence on Stuart Street.

Wallace is known to wander off and walk the streets of Berkeley and Oakland, according to the alert. She also frequents grocery and convenient stores, such as Berkeley Bowl and Whole Foods. Wallace also does not have a cell phone in her possession, the alert said.

The alert described Wallace as a Black female with black hair and black eyes, about 5′ 5″ in height and 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a red vest, black pants and carrying a dark colored purse.
