UCPD is investigating a report of aggravated assault that occurred in People’s Park on Saturday.

According to a UCPD Nixle alert, a UCPD officer received a report Sunday from the Tang Center about a battery with serious bodily injury that occurred about noon Saturday. The male victim, who is unaffiliated with the campus, was in People’s Park when he was allegedly “jumped” by three or four male suspects, the alert said. The alert alleges that the suspects pushed the victim to the ground and kicked him several times before running off.

The victim suffered injuries from the altercation that required medical attention, according to the alert.

The alert described the suspects as three to four Black males.
