Berkeley police ask for witnesses to Dec. 18 hit-and-run collision

Berkeley Police Department sent out a Nixle alert Tuesday afternoon looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run collision that occurred Dec. 18.

The collision, which was between a pedestrian and a vehicle, occurred on San Pablo Avenue near Haskell Street at 11:32 p.m., according to the alert. The alert also said the pedestrian is currently in the hospital with significant trauma from being struck by the vehicle.

BPD found through further investigation that an uninvolved vehicle drove northbound on San Pablo Avenue about the same time the collision occurred. The alert said that this vehicle’s drivers or passengers may have helpful information for investigators regarding the collision. The uninvolved vehicle is a dark colored SUV similar to a Chevrolet TrailBlazer, the alert said.
