UCPD, Berkeley police searching for strong arm robbery suspect

Berkeley Police Department reported a strong arm robbery that occurred early Saturday morning, in which the male victim was allegedly robbed of cash by a male suspect, according to a UCPD Nixle alert released around noon Saturday.

The robbery occurred on the 2500 block of Durant just before 3 a.m., the alert said. The alert also said the victim, whose affiliation with the suspect is unknown, was allegedly robbed by the suspect while in the company of three to four other males.

According to the alert, the suspect left the scene heading eastbound on Durant Avenue, toward Bowditch Street. The suspect is described in the alert as a Filipino male, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches, with a thin build and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
