Berkeley Police Department, or BPD, responded to an armed robbery on Channing Way near Unit 1 late Monday morning, according to a Nixle alert released about 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim, a 19-year-old male campus student, said he was approached by four suspects, one of whom pointed a gun at the victim and demanded his property, according to the alert. UCPD and BPD searched the area but could not locate the suspects.

The victim said he saw the suspects flee westbound on Channing Way, then southbound on Telegraph Avenue. A UCPD community service officer reported seeing the possible suspects flee eastbound on Durant Avenue in a black sedan.

The victim was not injured during the encounter.
