2 people robbed of wallets, cellphones on Southside

Berkeley Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Dwight Way and Warring Street, according to a Nixle alert released about 5 p.m. Saturday.

Two victims were robbed early Saturday morning by four suspects, two of whom were apprehended, according to the alert.

The two victims were at the intersection of Dwight Way and Warring Street when they were approached by four suspects, who imitated being armed with knives, the alert said. BPD responded and was able to detain two suspects at Dwight Way and College Avenue but was unable to locate the other two suspects, according to the alert.

Wallets and cellphones were stolen from the victims, according to the alert, but the victims were not physically injured.

BPD has asked anyone with information to contact the department at 510-981-5900.
