UC employee is victim of strong arm robbery in People’s Park

A strong-arm robbery occurred at People’s Park on Friday morning, according to a Nixle alert from UCPD released Friday afternoon.

About 9:30 a.m., a UC employee who was working at People’s Park was approached by the suspect and allegedly pulled a cell phone from the employee’s hands, kicked and punched them, according to the alert.

UCPD officers arrived on scene and arrested the suspect, who is not affiliated with the campus.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was later treated at the Tang Center, according to the alert.

    The robber will be given a suspended sentence thanks to the ever increasing movement of making felonies into misdemeanors.
