Berkeley police arrested a fugitive from Tennessee with three out-of-state warrants April 1, according to Berkeleyside.

At about 10:00 p.m. on April 1, an officer patrolling a parking lot in the 2000 block of Berkeley Way spotted five men in the area, as Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Andrew Frankel told Berkeleyside. The officer, who recognized three of the men as being on probation, conducted a search of the group and uncovered methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia.

One member of the group, 31-year-old Shawn Dylan Thompson, was found to have three out-of-state warrants, Frankel told Berkeleyside. According to an online BPD arrest log, Thompson allegedly falsely identified himself to officers and was in possession of controlled substances.

Thompson was arrested on a fugitive warrant, according to Alameda County’s Inmate Locator service. Thompson is currently being held at Santa Rita Jail and cannot be released on bail.
