A group of female foreign exchange students was allegedly robbed at gunpoint Saturday morning, as first reported by Berkeleyside.

According to an email from Berkeley Police Department spokesperson Officer Byron White, the group was walking on Etna Street near Parker Street at approximately 4 a.m. when a car pulled up to two of the students. Four female suspects allegedly got out of the car and surrounded the students, pointed a gun at them and demanded their belongings, White said in the email.

White added that the suspects escaped with the backpack of one of the students.
