Berkeley Police Department released a Nixle alert Wednesday at approximately 11:54 a.m. warning of a man who “sexually propositioned” a teenage boy near the corner of Fulton and Parker streets.

The teen refused, and the man walked away. But later that evening, the teen saw the man again as he was riding his bike down Shattuck Avenue, near Carleton Street. The man lingered in the area for half an hour and left in his vehicle, the alert said.

According to the alert, witnesses described the suspect as an Indian man about 40 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches in height, with black hair and “a thin build.” The alert added that the suspect’s vehicle was a white four-door sedan, most likely an early 2000s model Toyota Corolla.
