Nia Wilson’s alleged murderer faces charges from Alameda County District Attorney

27-year-old John Lee Cowell was charged with murder and attempted murder by the Alameda County District Attorney on Wednesday in connection with the attack on Nia Wilson and her sister Latifah Wilson.

Nia Wilson and Latifah Wilson were allegedly stabbed by Cowell on Sunday at the MacArthur BART station, leading to Nia Wilson’s death. Latifah Wilson was taken to a local hospital and treated for her injuries.

Cowell’s arraignment is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday.
