Berkeley pedestrian injured in collision, taken to hospital

Berkeley police responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Parker Street on Tuesday about 6:10 p.m, as first reported by Berkeleyside.

A 26-year-old Berkeley resident was crossing the street at the intersection when a southbound driver struck her, according to Berkeleyside. She sustained injuries to her head and arm, and she was soon after taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver, a 74-year-old Oakland resident, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
