Berkeley police find missing, at-risk man with dementia

Berkeley Police Department sent out a Nixle alert at 1:26 p.m. Thursday notifying the community that the missing “at-risk” person has been located.

According to an alert sent at 9:04 a.m. Thursday, an 88-year-old man named Tsu Tao Chiao, who goes by the nickname “TT”, walked away from his home in the Hazel Road and Claremont Avenue area on Thursday morning between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Chiao is now “safe” and reunited with his family, according to the second alert. BPD thanked the community for their assistance in locating Chiao.
