The following are The Daily Californian's recommendations for the November general election. The Senior Editorial Board chose to make endorsements for national, state and city races as well as for state propositions and city measures.
The board's selections for president of the United States, United States representative, California State Senate, California State Assembly and state propositions appear here.
To evaluate the candidates running for national and state office, information from the candidates' official Web sites, campaign brochures and fliers were taken into account. In choosing whether to support or oppose a state proposition, the board heard presentations from those who requested to present their case. The decisions were also based on arguments for and against the propositions found in the Official Voter Information Guide and on nonpartisan Web sites.
