Thousands of students lined up Wednesday morning to buy tickets to see the Dalai Lama's lecture at the Greek Theatre, scheduled for April 25.
Some students lined up as early as 10 p.m. Tuesday night to obtain the student-hold tickets, which went on sale at 9 a.m. this morning.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public at noon on March 23.
Campus officials have said they expect the Greek Theatre, which seats 7,000 people, to be at full capacity for the event.
"For me it's like a once in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear him speak," said junior Amanda Nguyen, who got in line at 7:30 a.m.
