When I originally asked Cal cross country senior Alison Greggor if she would like to muse, I hadn't even checked her Calbears.com profile. Lo and behold, an hour before the interview while doing background research, I get hit with the surprise: She was born in Ridgewood, N.J.

Before we got into the podcast, I couldn't help but ask where she lived during her time in the greatest state of the union. Turns out until she was 10, she lived in the same town as The Barn, home of the world's best nachos and some damn good burgers.

The same town in which Tara Reid and (begrudgingly) the Jonas Brothers grew up.

The same town that is home to Nick's chiller basement, J.J.'s pool and Pepper, a lovely Portuguese Water Dog. (According to urban legend, when the Obamas were deciding what dog to get, they consulted the Goodgal family.)

Yes folks, as many of you have probably figured out by now, she used to live in Wyckoff, N.J.

Mustafa Shaikh: I tell people I'm from New Jersey, and they give me a lot of hate. So what can you say in defense of New Jersey and, if you want to go further, in defense of Wyckoff?

Alison Greggor: You know there's not much to defend Wyckoff because people look at it and go, "Oh, it's Wack-off, New Jersey," and I go, "No Wyckoff, New Jersey." But I have to say, if both of us came from there, it has to be a pretty good place.

MS: What do you remember about New Jersey?

AG: I remember it being really cold in the winters, but that being so much fun because you get to jump in the snow ... When you're that age, it's great.

MS: You are cited by your teammates as being extremely British (both her parents are from England). You even have British flags all over your car.

AG: I have a Mini Cooper and I have British wing mirrors on the side. Talking to everyone I know from Britain, that's actually very American-to be flouting the flag like that.

MS: According to your teammate, Matt Miller, you're the least English gringo person he knows. Do you take that as a compliment?

AG: I take that as a compliment. I guess that means my Spanish is not as bad as his.

MS: Oooh, coming out firing. Miss Allison Greggor, here we go.

MS: Have you made plans to go back to London for the 2012 Summer Olympics?

AG: When (my family and I) were there this last summer, we went by the Olympic center and it is awesome. The train we were taking was going by (it)-it's huge. So yes, definitely.

MS: OK, well if you have any extra tickets, send them my way.

MS: What's your favorite place to eat?

AG: If I'm in the mood for Thai, it's Tuk Tuk Thai … Otherwise, I always go for a veggie burger at Smart Alec's with a side of cornbread.

MS: Let's just focus on the cornbread for a second. It is amazing!

AG: It really is. That's why you go there, just for the cornbread.

MS: This might be a bit embarrassing to say on a podcast, but have you ever had more than one serving of cornbread?

AG: Well, what will happen is I'll sometimes go with someone to Smart Alec's and I'll eat my whole cornbread. And then, while they're not looking, I'll pinch pieces off of theirs.
