This Week in Cal Sports featured wins for the Bears across the athletic facilities in Berkeley.
At Haas Pavilion, the Cal volleyball team bounced back from a 3-1 loss to UCLA on Friday night with a 3-1 victory over USC on Halloween. Libero Kristen Kathan provided the spark for the Bears in a morale-boosting victory over the Trojans.
At Edwards Stadium, the Cal women's soccer team notched two victories this weekend, shutting out Arizona on Friday afternoon and edging Arizona State, 3-2, in overtime on Sunday, when Lisa Kevorkian scored on a header in the extra period.
At Spieker Aquatics Complex, the Cal men's water polo team defeated UC Irvine, 13-10, on Saturday. Brian Dudley scored a hat trick for the Bears in their fourth-straight victory.
Meanwhile, the Cal football team visited Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz., squeaking past Arizona State, 23-21, on Giorgio Tavecchio's fourth-quarter field goal. Quarterback Kevin Riley went 27-for-44 and engineered the game-winning drive in the Bears' third Pac-10 victory of the season.
