Polygamy Breeds Immorality and Moral Bankruptcy
In her article entitled "Fundamentalist Orgies," sex columnist Andrea Demaray reinforced why some people are so concerned about the status of marriage and sexual morality in our nation (Oct. 21).
Her article tried to paint group sex, screwing around with multiple partners and other similar behaviors as healthy and normal.
This kind of "anything goes" attitude toward sexuality and indeed to morality is simply shocking.
Besides the obvious moral bankruptcy of the behaviors listed in her column, Demaray never cites one psychological study supporting non-monogamy.
On the contrary, there is plenty of evidence that lack of fidelity doesn't strengthen relationships; it destroys them.
Marriage is a sanctifying union. It's a promise of commitment before God.
We need to begin seeing it as just that.

Ban on Abortion Procedure Puts Women in Role of Servitude
Every major newspaper recently published articles about the Senate passing a ban on an abortion procedure.
The articles went on to say that the President is expected to sign the bill, and that it will be challenged in court.
It would be wrong for President Bush to sign this bill. It is unconstitutional and immoral.
No one has the right to dictate to a woman what medical procedures she must follow.
It seems sad to me that the Republican party-the party of the great emancipator, who freed the slaves-now wants to hold women in a state of servitude by an inhumane and cruel law.
I hope that other readers of The Daily Californian will tell their legislators and their President how they feel about this law, which seems so wrong to me.
